Vampire Gamer

My employer, in all it's wisdom, has cut my hours to one day this week, (come on, Saturday!), so I've had plenty of time to play games. I've put in hours of XBLA version Puzzle Quest, hours and hours of Call Of Duty 4 multiplayer and now Mass Effect has taken over my life, unexpectedly. I didn't think I was track down every side quest in the Citadel, nor did I think I was going to spend so much time traveling to every planet to resolve every UNC side assignment. I just realized tonight I still had some UNC stuff to resolve before I finish this last (?) mission on Ilos.

I have Burnout Paradise and No More Heroes sitting on a shelf right now and I haven't even opened up them yet. Damn you, Mass Effect!

Aw sheeit. Rez HD is available now too.

I love games, I really do.

9 Out Of 10 Ain't Bad

As an excuse to get out of the house I went to buy some groceries. OK, groceries and junk food. I saw that Lipton Greeen Tea with Citrus was on sale, 10 for 10. I miscounted and got 9 instead of 10, which isn't so bad because I still paid less. (I also didn't realize that 4 of the 9 were diet. D'oh!)

I've been playing alot of Puzzle Quest lately and at the same time watching season 3 of Mystery Science Theater 3000. The audio is great in Puzzle Quest but there's no recorded voices instead it's just text so I can take advantage of that and watch MST3K.

After constantly hearing about Jeff Gerstmann rolling out of bed at noon everyday in front of his Xbox 360 and playing Call Of Duty 4, I couldn't just sit idly by. I'm not at level 55 (yet) but I unlocked the M604E the other day. As of today I'm 2nd Lieutenant II. That M60 just mows down the enemy. Just mows em down. What better way to celebrate Rambo in theaters than mowing down the bad guys with an M60? Isn't that his job? ("Let the bodies hit the...." Well, you know the rest). Speaking of Rambo, Devin Faraci of CHUD.com says, "Rambo earns the Red Badge of Carnage." Too funny.

I finally cracked open Mass Effect. I must say it's exceeded any expectations I had so far. I've only completed the first mission, on Eden Prime, but I'm liking it. The combination of an RPG and a rich sci-fi universe is something I could get in to. That's not to say I won't also play that copy of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition, there's room in my heart for you too, Oblivion!

Does anyone know of a website or a way to track the multiplayer unlocks, rank and so forth? Ya know, kinda like Halo 3? That would rock.

Quietus

Quietus. A word I found interesting. It almost sounds like a name Hideo Kojima and his writers would come up for a Metal Gear Solid boss. I bring you, Quietus.

quietus \kwy-EE-tuhs\, noun:
1. Final discharge or acquittance, as from debt or obligation.
2. Removal from activity; rest; death.
3. Something that serves to suppress or quiet.

I have put a quietus upon that ticking. Depend upon it, the ticking will trouble you no more.
-- Herman Melville, "The Apple-Tree Table"

The First Question Mark

Yep, the first one. I had started a site here at blogger but... who knows where that went. I still have a page at WordPress at the moment but I don't know if I will keep it around. It depends on how things go here. I was recommended blogger by a friend of mine whom I trust quite a bit.

Here you can, if you wish to, read about my ramblings on such tops as movies, music and video games and whatever else catches my attention for more than... oh, let's say five minutes.

I'll quote Holden from Blade Runner.

"Let's continue. Shall we?"
